CASA Training: Positive Discipline

Wednesday, 25th April, 2018
Starts: 10am - Ends: 12pm
Location: Voices for CASA Children

The philosophy of Positive Discipline is to give our children the tools they need to be responsible, respectful and resourceful human beings. Recent research tells us that children are ‘hard-wired’ from birth to connect with others, and those who feel a strong sense of connection to their community, families, and school are less likely to misbehave. Many children in foster care have the odds stacked against them. It’s important to understand how a child’s early experiences can affect brain development and learning. You can make a difference and help your CASA child thrive!

Jana Kotsur is a Certified Positive Discipline Educator and Trainer, and also one of our own – a CASA volunteer! Jana worked as a Pre-K teacher in the Mesa Public School District for 11 years. She has a passion for children and has found the Positive Discipline principles valuable with students, parents and colleagues. Jana teaches parenting classes with Mesa Public Schools, as well as classes in the community.

When: Wednesday, April 25th from 10am-12pm.
