VOICES supports child advocates so children can thrive and have more positive outcomes while living in foster care.
Voices for CASA Children is a 501(c)(3) organization that brings a voice to Maricopa County’s children by promoting and supporting volunteer advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, and public awareness of the importance of safe and permanent homes for all children. VOICES is an affiliate of the National CASA Association.

Each year, we are encouraged by the focus Arizona has on ensuring all children have a safe and permanent home.
In 1976 a judge in Seattle WA had an idea. Judge David W. Soukup believed children, who had experienced abuse or neglect, needed trained volunteers speaking up in the courtroom for their best interests in court. Today, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA volunteers) are appointed by judges to advocate for children’s best interests. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is in a safe, permanent home. CASA volunteers work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators and service providers to ensure that judges have all the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child. Voices for CASA Children supports CASA volunteers appointed by the Maricopa County’s juvenile court by mobilizing the community, through recruitment, preparation, and support for CASA advocates, and by thoughtfully translating what they learn through their work with children and families into stronger community understanding and better conditions with dignity and integrity.
